Bank-records falsification case involving former executives
Four former Wilmington Trust executives were convicted in a U.S. Department of Justice case concerning falsification of bank records and received prison terms of three to six years. The Third Circuit Court of Appeals later vacated the convictions, acquitted the defendants on most charges, and ordered a new trial on the remaining charges. The Justice Department declined to retry the case.
