Dispute over copied ice cream van designs
Whitby Morrison successfully sued a Yorkshire-based operator after alleging that the operator had acquired one of its vans and reverse-engineered approximately 30 vehicles. The dispute concerned registered exterior and interior designs, the direct-drive system and use of the Whitby Morrison logo. The matter was a commercial intellectual-property dispute involving alleged copying, rather than a finding of misconduct by Whitby Morrison.
