Egyptian-cotton labeling and supply dispute
Target alleged that 500-thread-count sheets sold under its Fieldcrest label as Egyptian cotton were made with another cotton type without its knowledge. Target withdrew the affected products, offered refunds and terminated the relationship. Walmart and Bed Bath & Beyond later stopped selling the implicated linens. Welspun acknowledged a specification issue affecting one client program and announced an investigation and external audit of its supply systems.
