Portuguese banknote crisis
Banco de Portugal sued Waterlow & Sons in the English High Court over banknotes it regarded as counterfeit or unauthorized. The dispute became a major legal and reputational crisis for the printer and was ultimately resolved in 1932 in favour of Banco de Portugal.
