Russian extremist-organization designation and Lesta nationalization case
A Moscow court reportedly designated Wargaming and founder Victor Kislyi as participants in an extremist organization in proceedings connected to Wargaming’s support for Ukraine. The court also ordered the seizure and nationalization of Lesta Games-related assets. Wargaming had exited Russia and Belarus in 2022 and stated that Lesta was no longer affiliated with it, making the proceeding a major geopolitical and legal controversy surrounding the company.

Dismissal of Creative Director Sergey Burkatovskiy
In February 2022, Creative Director Sergey Burkatovskiy published comments supporting Russia’s position after the invasion of Ukraine. Wargaming said his view contradicted the company’s position and announced that he was no longer an employee.
