Concerns over accounting and management controls
Following the acquisition, Movie Gallery stated that Video Update had lacked certain internal accounting and management controls before and during bankruptcy and indicated that officers may have engaged in embezzlement or fraud. These were reported allegations and control concerns, not established findings against every officer.
