GPLv2 source-code access controversy
UMIDIGI was criticized after reportedly directing a developer requesting Linux kernel source code for the UMIDIGI F2 to visit the company’s Shenzhen office in person. The response was viewed as impractical for international developers and potentially problematic in light of GPLv2 source-disclosure obligations. A blogger later visited the office, but the employee connected with the exchange had reportedly left and the cited account did not identify a definitive resolution.
