Post-independence dispute over programming and editorial control
After independence, Equatorial Guinean authorities accused the TVE-linked service of racist programming and treated some Spanish-originated recreational and cultural content as imperialist propaganda. Local news was also heavily censored. The dispute contributed to the end of the Spanish territorial center.
