Questions over TVB music awards
The TVB Music Awards were subject to allegations that awards were distributed in ways connected to artists' compliance with the company's demands. The Independent Commission Against Corruption investigated three TVB staff members under scrutiny and found them not guilty. TVB later reformed aspects of its music programming and awards presentation.

Competitors and commentators criticized TVB's use of exclusive contracts with performers, arguing that the arrangements could restrict artists from appearing on rival local stations and raise competition concerns.
