TOPPAN launches ReLayer recycled-content packaging film brand
TOPPAN, a group company of Japan's TOPPAN Holdings, said on October 14, 2026 that it launched ReLayer, a brand of recycled-content films for packaging covering PE, PP, PET and PA resins, including films suitable for primary food packaging. The launch follows ISCC PLUS certification obtained in March 2025 at TOPPAN's Fukaya, Gunma Center and Fukusaki plants and completion of mass-balance operational verification at the Gunma Center plant in April 2026, expanding supply of chemically recycled resins alongside mechanically recycled materials. TOPPAN cited tightening environmental requirements, including Europe's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and amendments to Japan's resource-use promotion law, as reasons for establishing the brand.
