Allegations of judicial harassment
Fortify Rights reported that Tungkum had brought at least 19 civil and criminal lawsuits against 33 villagers and other opponents over seven years, seeking a combined 320 million baht. The organization characterized the litigation as targeting environmental defenders, journalists, and others with costly legal actions.
2016
Loei mine environmental and defamation dispute
Residents and the Khon Rak Ban Kerd Group accused the Loei open-pit copper-gold mine of environmental destruction. Tungkum sued six group members over signs calling for the mine's closure and sought 50 million baht in damages; the Loei Provincial Court dismissed the case on 30 March 2016.
