Arrowhead cash-equity trading system failure
On October 1, 2020, a hardware failure and unsuccessful switchover to a backup device prevented market-information distribution and stopped trading in all listed issues for the entire day. The failure damaged confidence in the resilience of Japan’s electronic-market infrastructure. TSE apologized, published an investigation and improvement program, and participated in regulatory follow-up that included Financial Services Agency business-improvement orders.
