During a bombing raid on Osnabrück, the business and office building was completely destroyed, and Adolf Titgemeyer, his wife, and many employees lost their lives. Wilhelm Karmann helped keep the wholesale business going. During a front leave, the brothers Ernst-Adolf and Walter Titgemeyer relocated the wholesale operation to Bad Rothenfelde.
