PCB demolition and Superfund cleanup dispute
The EPA sued Titan Tire and Dico Inc. concerning the demolition of PCB-contaminated buildings in Des Moines, Iowa, and the transfer of contaminated steel beams to another property. The matter was connected to Superfund cleanup expenses. A federal judge ruled against the companies and fines were reported at nearly $4.6 million, with additional responsibility for certain continuing and future EPA-related costs.
