El Pèndol ride collapse
On 10 July 2010, the mechanical arm of El Pèndol broke and the ride structure collapsed onto the Mina d'Or area. A 15-year-old visitor died and three others were injured. Although the ride had passed inspections, later findings identified mechanical concerns and a chain of failures involving design, manufacture, construction, and commissioning.

Grand Tibidabo financial and management crisis
The park's investment and expansion period under Grand Tibidabo ended amid allegations of fraud and the diversion of company funds associated with Javier de la Rosa. Continuing losses contributed to bankruptcy proceedings and ultimately preceded municipal control.
