The Intercept and Freedom of the Press Foundation sue Trump over Truth Social's Truth API

    Lawsuit filed

The Intercept and the nonprofit Freedom of the Press Foundation sued President Donald Trump on Wednesday over Truth Social's Truth API service, which charges up to $100,000 a month for faster access to his posts. The suit, filed in federal court in New York, alleges the offering violates the First Amendment's guarantee of equal public access and the Fifth Amendment by granting preferential access for unreasonable sums, and asks the court to block the president from posting official government information exclusively on Truth Social. The suit also names Natalie Harp, Dan Scavino, the Executive Office of the President and the White House Office as defendants.
