Allegations over alleged Iraqi military vehicle production

Richard Carl Fuisz alleged that military vehicles had been built at a Terex-owned Scottish facility for intelligence-related purposes and eventual Iraqi military use. Terex denied the allegations and filed a libel complaint against Fuisz and journalist Seymour M. Hersh. Multiple investigations, including a federal task-force investigation, resulted in no legal charges. The New York Times later published an editor’s note expressing regret that its reporting had created the impression that Terex supplied Scud missile launchers to Iraq.
