Coordinated manipulation and offensive outputs
Users exploited Tay’s learning and repetition mechanisms, causing it to publish racist, sexist, abusive, and otherwise inflammatory messages. Microsoft characterized the incident as a coordinated attack exploiting a vulnerability in the system.

Accidental second release
During testing, Tay was unintentionally placed online again. It produced drug-related messages and then flooded Twitter with repetitive posts before Microsoft shut it down and restricted the account.
