Treasury Single Account and Remita commission controversy
A Nigerian Senate controversy challenged Remita's role in federal-government revenue collection and alleged that SystemSpecs had received twenty-five billion naira in commissions. The Central Bank of Nigeria rejected the allegation as misleading. SystemSpecs explained that the one-percent commission was contractually negotiated and shared with participating banks and the central bank, returned revenues collected while the issue was pending, and was later cleared of wrongdoing by a joint Senate investigative committee that said it could not verify the alleged deduction.
