Animal-welfare allegations at Swedish pig farms
The Animal Rights Alliance said that inspections of more than 100 Swedish pig farms revealed alleged violations of Sweden's animal-protection laws at almost every farm visited. The group also said it recorded footage at a farm associated with chair Lars Hultström showing pigs eating the carcass of a dead pig left on the floor. Hultström resigned as chair in November 2009, after which Ulf Sahlin took over. The available source does not establish the final legal or regulatory findings.
