WPP investor lawsuit over secondary stock sales
WPP alleged that Spot Runner's founders had conducted secondary sales without adequate disclosure and that the company, outside directors, and major venture investors had facilitated the transactions. The federal case was dismissed in 2009, refiled and dismissed again in 2010, and later appellate shareholder-derivative claims were dismissed in 2011. Insurers settled the remaining dispute on confidential terms.
