New Jersey filed natural-resource-damage and cleanup lawsuits against Solvay Specialty Polymers USA and Arkema concerning alleged PFAS contamination associated with a Gloucester County manufacturing facility. The state complaint alleged releases of PFAS compounds, including PFNA, into surrounding environmental media and public drinking-water sources. Solvay Specialty Polymers became part of Syensqo after the 2023 separation, so the litigation concerns a business historically associated with Solvay rather than the current essential-chemistry operating portfolio.
