German glycerol-related pouch recall
A Slush Puppie squeeze-pouch drink was recalled in Germany in August 2025 after its glycerol level exceeded the safe threshold cited by the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. Glycerol is used in slushy drinks to help prevent them from freezing completely. Reported risks from consuming large quantities included headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and drowsiness, particularly among children. The supplied material also notes that glycerol-containing slushy drinks may not be suitable for children under four.
