Allegations of illegal child labour in football stitching
A newspaper investigation alleged that children in India stitched footballs associated with Sherrin and another major Australian sports brand. The reporting described piece-rate payments and working conditions that allegedly breached child-labour prohibitions. It also raised questions about whether public descriptions of Australian manufacturing accurately represented the supply chain.
