Infant deaths after vaccination led to suspension; investigation found no causal link to vaccine quality
In late 2013, reports from several regions described infant deaths following administration of Kangtai's hepatitis B vaccine, and use of the product was temporarily suspended. In 2014, official investigations and testing indicated that the deaths were not attributable to vaccine quality, and production resumed. This entry preserves both the safety concern and the clarification: a death after vaccination does not mean the vaccine caused it.
