Western Sahara seismic surveys
Seabird Exploration operated seismic surveys off the coast of Western Sahara for Moroccan oil exploration interests. The work drew criticism because the legality of resource exploration in the disputed territory had been challenged by reference to international law, including the position attributed to the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs. Seabird Exploration subsequently apologized for the operations.
