Cathy and Miffy copyright dispute
Mercis BV, representing Miffy creator Dick Bruna, alleged that Sanrio's Cathy character infringed Miffy's copyright and trademark. A Dutch court ruled against Sanrio in the relevant territories, and the parties later settled worldwide.
