Jiangsu Saleen financial-misconduct allegations
Chinese authorities, a state-linked investor, and former senior legal manager Qiao Yudong alleged that Charlie Wang had inflated the stated value of automotive-technology investments, misrepresented expenditures, and diverted state funds. Authorities reported alleged embezzlement approaching one billion dollars. Wang denied the characterization and described the developments as persecution. The allegations were followed by asset seizures, factory closures, account freezes, and the collapse of the Rugao venture.
