An Algiers cpourt on Monday fined Italian multinational oilfield services company Saipem, Saipem Contracting Algérie and Snamprogetti Algeria Branch 192 million euros in a first-instance ruling on the allocation of the GNL3 Arzew project in 2008, the three companies said in a statement saying they will appeal.
Saipem, which is 30% controlled by oil giant Eni, said the fine would hit 2021 accounts even if it not levied having been suspended by the appeal.
Saipem has been fined $218 million by the Tribunal Of Algiers over alleged corruption on the 2008 GNL3 Arzew deal.
