Journal of Vibration and Control peer-review ring
Sage's investigation found fabricated reviewer identities and coordinated manipulation of peer review involving papers in the Journal of Vibration and Control. Approximately 60 articles were retracted, and Sage said it revised editorial and author-verification practices.

Flawed-paper acceptance and OASPA review
The Journal of International Medical Research accepted an intentionally flawed paper submitted as part of a test of open-access journal peer review. OASPA reviewed Sage's membership and later reinstated it after a period of review.
