Earmark funding and Virgil Goode forecast controversy
The Center for Politics was reported to have received more than $7 million in earmarked funding associated with Representative Virgil Goode, whom Larry Sabato had predicted would win reelection in 2008. Goode narrowly lost, and critics argued that the financial relationship should have been disclosed or that Sabato should have recused himself.
