Disclosure dispute involving former bombing range
Ryland paid $1.2 million to settle litigation alleging that it failed to disclose that 118 homes in the Newport subdivision near Orlando were built on or near the former Pinecastle Jeep bombing range. Plaintiffs said live bombs were found and that the resulting information affected property values.

Alleged pressure to use affiliated mortgage services
A federal lawsuit in Atlanta alleged that Ryland required buyers to obtain mortgages through its affiliated mortgage operation or pay an additional material fee to use an outside mortgage provider.
