    Dutch beer price-fixing cartel

    The European Commission found that Swinkels Family Brewers participated with Heineken, Grolsch and InBev in coordinated conduct affecting beer prices, market allocation and rebates in the Netherlands between 1996 and 1999. The Commission stated that the companies used covert meetings and code names and that the conduct affected supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, cafés and private-label beer. Swinkels Family Brewers was fined 22.85 million euros.
