Controversy surrounding R. Kelly and Rockland's closure
Rockland's parent-label relationship ended amid controversy surrounding allegations that R. Kelly had engaged in sexual abuse involving minors and the circulation of a sex tape alleged to feature Kelly and a fourteen-year-old girl. Interscope ended its association with Kelly and effectively folded Rockland, leaving planned releases cancelled or unreleased.
