Dispute over the Just Cavalli logo
The Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi Shahmaghsoudi school alleged that the Just Cavalli logo copied a sacred emblem and pursued proceedings before the European trademark authority. The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market rejected the request to invalidate the logo at first instance, stating that the marks were not sufficiently similar. Protests nevertheless continued.

Hindu imagery in Harrods lingerie collection
A feminine underwear line designed for Harrods used images of Hindu goddesses and prompted sharp criticism from members of the Hindu community. The collection was withdrawn and formal apologies were made.
