Founder arrested for tax evasion
Founder Tetsuo Taira was arrested for tax evasion. The episode was followed by successive corporate name changes, first to Freegate Promotion and then to Vision Factory, while his trial proceeded. Taira later served a 30-month prison sentence and returned to the company.
