Ownership and governance dispute
Substantial owners Bruce Eames and Andrey Omeltchenko challenged Wilbur Bosarge Jr.'s control of Quantlab Group and alleged that he had blocked a potential sale and forced them out. Delaware and Texas litigation followed. The Delaware effort to remove Bosarge as general partner was unsuccessful.
2007
SXP proprietary-code litigation
Quantlab accused former employees and an associated competing venture, SXP, of misappropriating trading code and algorithms. The dispute involved civil lawsuits, an FBI raid, and a federal investigation. A 2015 jury awarded Quantlab $12.2 million against two defendants, while other parties settled; the verdict was upheld on appeal in 2017.
