Lead-content advisory concerning Extra Hot candy
In July 2007, California health authorities reported lead concentrations of 0.12 to 0.18 parts per million in tested Pulparindo Extra Hot candy. The reported levels were described as exceeding applicable limits for candy not frequently consumed by small children. Follow-up testing later reported levels below 0.10 parts per million, and the advice was rescinded on December 19, 2007, for products with a best-before date of June 2009 or later.
