Wage dispute and nationwide postal strike
Posti management pursued labor-cost changes that were reported as potentially cutting some wages by 30% to 50%. A strike halted or disrupted letter and parcel delivery in Finland and internationally from 11 to 27 November. The Finnish government opposed the proposed wage dumping, and the dispute contributed to the resignation of minister Sirpa Paatero and chief executive Heikki Malinen.
