    Forced labor and concentration-camp subcamps

From 1943, Polte production sites used concentration-camp prisoners and other forced laborers in ammunition manufacturing, case regeneration, finishing, warehousing and related work. Prisoners endured long shifts, piecework, violence, malnutrition and disease, with numerous deaths reported. Subcamps associated with several concentration camps supplied labor to Polte operations.
