Podravka financing and governance scandal
Several Podravka board members were arrested after allegations that approximately 35 million euros in company funds had been secretly directed toward an attempt to acquire a large ownership stake in Podravka. Damir Polančec, then a Croatian deputy prime minister and former Podravka supervisory board member, resigned his government position in connection with the affair.
