Gendered gelato flavour promotion
Pidapipo promoted two flavours using gendered descriptions: a salted-caramel, milk-chocolate, and malt-crumb flavour for men, and a strawberry, rose, white-chocolate, and raspberry-dust flavour for women. The promotion drew criticism, including from University of Melbourne academic Dr Lauren Rosewarne, who argued that gendering ice cream was unnecessary. Pidapipo removed the Instagram post and apologised for the impression it had created.
