FCC criticism of the Irium advertising claim

In a speech, FCC chairman Reed Hundt stated that the “Irium” named in Pepsodent advertising did not exist as an independent ingredient. Reference material identifies Irium as another name used for sodium lauryl sulfate. This was a criticism of advertising terminology rather than a reported product-safety scandal.
