Sri Lankan trademark opposition
Pensonic won a Sri Lankan judgment in January 2009 against Panasonic’s opposition to registration of the Pensonic trademark. The decision reportedly considered Pensonic’s prior registrations in Malaysia, Japan, and other countries.

Panasonic-Pensonic brand-name dispute in Singapore
Panasonic challenged Pensonic over the similarity of their names and obtained an injunction against Pensonic in Singapore. Pensonic maintained that its name was independently formed from “Penang” and “Sonic.”
