Threats following police report about backpack
After the killing of Brian Thompson, CEO Peter Dering told police that the suspect appeared to be carrying a Peak Design backpack. Dering said that no private customer information was supplied, but the report was followed by death threats directed at him and the company.

Dispute with Amazon over Everyday Sling copy
Peak Design accused Amazon of producing a copycat Amazon Basics version of its Everyday Sling. Amazon later changed the name of the disputed bag.
