Pan-Electric corporate collapse
The company failed after massive unsettled forward contracts generated obligations it could not meet. The collapse produced approximately S$480 million in reported debt, rendered the holdings of about 5,500 shareholders effectively worthless and forced the Singapore and Kuala Lumpur stock exchanges to close for three days.
