Immigration-audit terminations and labor dispute
A strike began after the company dismissed many immigrant workers whose employment documentation was questioned. Workers and supporters alleged retaliation for union activity and criticized workplace conditions. Palermo said the terminations resulted from federal immigration-enforcement warnings. The NLRB found the immigration-audit terminations of 75 workers lawful but found unlawful retaliation in the firing of nine workers.
