    Murder of Christina Marie Brown

Christina Marie Brown, an employee of a cleaning company contracted by Saks Fifth Avenue, was found fatally shot on September 25, 1992, along the path between the mall and the Owings Mills Metro station. Reports described the killing as occurring during a robbery attempt. The pathway was closed in November 1992, and the case received extensive local media attention. The incident contributed to a long-standing perception that the mall and its transit connection were unsafe.
