Litigation over alleged asset transactions
The Bank of Russia brought claims in the UK concerning alleged transactions involving Boris Mints, O1 Group and assets linked to Otkritie. Mints and his sons denied fraud and contested the allegations.

2017 liquidity crisis and state bailout
Otkritie suffered a major liquidity outflow after a downgrade and loss of market confidence. The Bank of Russia took over its administration and later said that much of the bank's capital was fictitious. The rescue required more than 8 billion US dollars in reported state support.
