Lexicon BD-30 and THX certification controversy

An Audioholics review reported that Lexicon's BD-30 Blu-ray player used a chassis and internal components identical to those of Oppo Digital's BDP-83, despite a much higher retail price. The review also questioned whether the player had passed fundamental THX tests. The controversy primarily concerned Lexicon's pricing, differentiation, and certification presentation; the available material does not show that Oppo Digital was accused of misconduct.
